Angela Melograno

Melograno’s innovative teaching idea, “Empowerment through Art,” focuses on learning experiences through the use of a 3-D printer. The program is designed to also help students learn meaningful life skills for building positive relationships, problem-solving challenges, and teamwork advantages. Students will use art class to initiate the instruction and use of the 3-D printer. The skills necessary for this project will transcend many disciplines. Students will apply math, science, literacy and social studies skills as they conduct research, plan designs, learn directions and procedures, implement their designs and evaluate the results. According to Melograno, this project will be a chance to advance the students to a higher level of thinking and problem solving. There will also be an opportunity for students to share their results with stakeholders and the public.
