"A Gathering of Nations, Celebrating Native Americans" is a program being led by Rodriguez and fher four colleagues. They have created a cross-curricular experience for the fourth and fifth-graders at St. Martin Upper Elementary School in Ocean Springs. The students will create a living museum featuring art, research, music, essays and cultural clothing. The project covers six Native American regions, each of which the students will explore in their classroom studies. In addition to creating works of art from the culture, students will also write essays and create PowerPoint presentations about Native-American history and music. They will also act as tour guides in this living museum, wearing period Native-American dress. The living museum will then celebrate its grand opening with parents and third graders from an area elementary school.
