Allison Riddle

Riddle's "Tracking the Tundra Swan" project is a cooperative effort with the Utah Department of Wildlife Resources to track the winter migration habits of the Western Tundra Swan on the Internet. Through the project, fourth-, fifth-, and sixth-grade students follow the movements of previously tagged swans through satellite tracking systems on the Utah Education Network Web site. Students select their own swans to track over the course of the year and learn valuable environmental and math skills as they predict how far their swan will travel during the week, using maps and environmental data archives.
