2024 materiality assessment results
In 2024, we updated Voya’s materiality assessment to identify the responsibility business practices that our stakeholders believe are most important for Voya.1 The results of this assessment help align our strategy to stakeholder expectations.
We developed an implied ranking survey that asked participants to evaluate 26 responsible business practice across five categories: business model and innovation; environment; human capital; leadership; governance and social capital. The topics were sourced from the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board (SASB) Materiality Finder for Asset Management & Custody Activities and Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Materiality Items. Requests to complete the survey were sent to Voya clients, employees, investors and nonprofit partners. Respondents were asked to rank each topic based on how important it is for Voya.
Based on survey responses, the highest ranked topics were:
- Data Security
- Customer Privacy
- Talent Attraction and Retention
- Business Ethics
- Pay Equity
We are committed to seeking stakeholder feedback and will refresh our materiality assessment on a periodic basis.
1The materiality assessment, as referenced, pertains to environment, social and governance factors and their impact on stakeholder value. It is not an assessment of financial materiality.
