Voya Financial Earns ‘100%’ on the Human Rights Campaign’s 2020 Corporate Equality Index — for 15th Consecutive Year
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Voya Financial, Inc. (NYSE: VOYA), announced today that, for the 15th consecutive year, it received a perfect score of 100% on the 2020 Corporate Equality Index (CEI) — the nation’s premier benchmarking survey and report measuring corporate policies and practices related to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer/questioning (LGBTQ) workplace equality.
Voya joins the ranks of more than 680 major U.S. businesses that also earned top marks this year, earning the designation as a “Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality.”
“We’re honored to receive this recognition, and proud that we have earned top marks in this space for 15 years — a demonstration of how we ensure our workforce continually evolves to remain committed to equal resources and opportunities,” said Voya’s Kevin Silva, executive vice president and chief human resources officer. “Our inclusion underscores our belief that a culture that recognizes our differences and embraces everyone’s experiences and perspectives makes us a stronger, more attractive company for our customers, employees and other stakeholders.”
“The impact of the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index over its 18-year history is profound. In this time, the corporate community has worked with us to adopt LGBTQ-inclusive policies, practices and benefits, establishing the Corporate Equality Index as a primary driving force for LGBTQ workplace inclusion in America and around the globe,” said Human Rights Campaign President Alphonso David. “These companies know that protecting their LGBTQ employees and customers from discrimination is not just the right thing to do — it is also the best business decision.”
The survey, administered by the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) Foundation, evaluates LGBTQ-related policies and practices on five broad categories, including non-discrimination policies, employment benefits, demonstrated organizational competency and accountability around LGBTQ diversity and inclusion, public commitment to LGBTQ equality, and responsible citizenship.
