Ian Qiu Joins Voya Investment Management as Head of Strategy
Voya Investment Management, the asset management business of Voya Financial, Inc. (NYSE: VOYA), announced today that it has hired Ian Qiu as Head of Strategy. Based in New York, Qiu reports to Mike Bell, chief financial officer, Voya Investment Management (IM).
In this newly created role, Qiu leads Voya IM’s strategic planning, prioritization and execution efforts. A key aspect of Qiu’s responsibilities will be exploring various growth opportunities.
“We have a clear strategy at Voya IM and are excited about our plans to continue to grow and do even more for our clients as we focus on helping them achieve their long-term investment objectives,” said Bell. “Ian will be a great addition to the team, as we look to continue our growth trajectory and identify ways that we can build upon our expertise in specialty asset classes.”
Prior to joining Voya, Qiu was a senior vice president of Corporate Strategy & Development at OppenheimerFunds where he was responsible for corporate development and strategic partnership efforts. Prior to OppenheimerFunds, Qiu held senior roles at BlackRock and Credit Suisse where he worked in corporate development and investment banking, respectively.
Qiu earned an MBA from Northwestern University and a Ph.D. from Michigan State University.
