Teen Program Submissions

If you produce successful and innovative programs for teens in your library, your program can be considered for coverage in Kevin King's Get With the Program column.

Your program also could be in the running for VOYA's Most Valuable Program for Teens (MVP). VOYA's MVP fulfills all three of our guiding principles: specialized young adult library services, intellectual freedom and equal access, and youth advocacy and youth participation. One overall winning MVP program receives $200 and a plaque to display in the library. Runner-up programs are considered in these categories: Active, Creative, Discussion, Pop Culture, and Volunteer/Activism programs. Each category's MVP receives $50. The MVP and all runner-up programs are published in VOYA's October issue each year.

All programs received via program submission forms will be considered for both King's every-issue column and the annual MVP. To discern whether your program might qualify for the MVP Award, review our guiding principles and announcement of MVPs through the links above, and examine the runner-up programs honored in the latest October issue. Find the most recent overall MVP here:

If your program is selected for either "Get With the Program" or the MVPs, you will be contacted to supply more details and graphics for publication.

Deadlines for submissions: June 15 every year for MVP consideration. "Get With the Program" considers online submissions year round. Queries for complete articles about teen library programs are considered year round by the Editor at screel@voya.com.

Click here for the Teen Program Submission Form to submit your program online. Options for submission by mail or e-mail are listed at the bottom of the form.
